The cold wave is coming, it’s time to maintain valves - Yuming Valve Winter Use Guide
Dear customers and partners:
As the cold air moves southward, temperatures drop sharply in many places across the country, and winter has quietly arrived. Warm reminder from Yuming Valve Group Co., Ltd.: In low temperature environments, the correct use and maintenance of valves is particularly important. To ensure the safe and stable operation of your equipment, please pay attention to the following precautions for using valves in winter.
1. Operation precautions
Slow operation: In low temperature environment, valve parts shrink and should be rotated slowly during operation to avoid excessive force.
Preheating treatment: For valves that have not been operated for a long time, they can be properly preheated before use.
Check sealing: Temperature changes may cause seals to shrink, please check valve sealing performance before use.
2. Key points of daily maintenance
Lubrication and maintenance: Use grease suitable for low temperatures to ensure the flexibility of valve stems, gears and other movable parts.
Tightening inspection: Temperature changes may cause connections to loosen. Check the bolt tightening regularly.
Debris cleaning: promptly remove ice, snow and debris around the valve to ensure smooth operation space and safe passages.
3. Anti-freeze and heat preservation is the key
In low-temperature environments, the media in valves and pipelines are easy to freeze, causing the valves to fail to operate normally or even be damaged:
Take insulation measures: Install insulation materials on valves and pipes outdoors and in unheated areas.
Drain standing water: When stopping the equipment, be sure to drain the standing water in the valves and pipes.
Regular inspections: Pay special attention to traps, discharge valves and other areas prone to water accumulation.
4. Low temperature material selection
Yuming Valve reminds you that suitable valve materials should be selected in low temperature environments:
Special valves for low-temperature conditions: The low-temperature gate valves and low-temperature ball valves produced by our company adopt special materials and sealing technology and can work stably in the environment from -46°C to -196°C.
Avoid material embrittlement: Ordinary carbon steel is prone to cold embrittlement at low temperatures. It is recommended to use low-temperature steel or stainless steel valves.
