In principle, the diameter of the inlet and outlet of the strainer should not be smaller than the inlet diameter of the matching pump, which is generally consistent with the diameter of the inlet pipeline.
2. Nominal pressure selection:
Determine the pressure rating of the strainer according to the highest possible pressure in the strainer line.
3. The choice of mesh number:
The selection of strainer pore size mainly considers the impurity particle size to be intercepted, which is determined according to the process requirements of the medium. 4. Strainer material:
The material of the strainer is generally selected to be the same as that of the connected process pipeline. For different service conditions, strainers made of cast iron, carbon steel, low alloy steel or stainless steel can be considered.

For water strainers, the pressure loss is 0.52 ~ 1.2kpa under the general calculation of the rated flow rate.
