INTRODUCTION
Yuming Valve Group's forged steel ball valves, utilising the unique characteristics of the forging process and its structural design, are widely used in industrial fluid control. Their core advantages can be categorised into performance stability, structural characteristics, and adaptability to various application scenarios, as follows:
1. Excellent Structural Strength and High-Pressure Resistance
They can stably withstand high-pressure operating conditions (typical nominal pressures range from Class 150 to Class 2500, and even higher), making them suitable for applications such as oil and gas extraction and transportation, and high-pressure hydraulic systems. They are also less susceptible to valve body deformation or leakage due to pressure fluctuations.
2. Excellent Sealing Performance with Extremely Low Leakage
The forged valve body boasts high dimensional accuracy, ensuring a tighter fit between the valve seat and the ball, effectively preventing internal leakage caused by casting defects (such as pinholes).
Metal-seal forged steel ball valves (e.g., hard-seal structures) can also withstand high temperatures and corrosive media. Their sealing performance degrades slowly over time, achieving leakage rates that meet ANSI B16.104 V0 (very low leakage) standards.
3. Wear and corrosion resistance, long service life
Wear resistance: Forged steel materials (such as ASTM A105, A182 F304/F316, etc.) are inherently hard, and the friction surfaces between the ball and valve seat are precision-polished, resulting in minimal wear during switching. This makes it particularly suitable for fluids containing small amounts of solid particles (such as natural gas with small amounts of impurities).
Corrosion resistance: Stainless steel forgings (such as 304 and 316L) can withstand corrosive media such as acids, alkalis, and salt spray (e.g., acid and alkali solution transportation in the chemical industry). The forging process also avoids the potential intergranular corrosion that can occur in cast steel, extending the service life of the equipment.
4. Convenient Operation, Low Flow Resistance Loss
Simple Operation: The ball valve utilizes a 90° rotating opening and closing mechanism, enabling rapid opening and closing (typically requiring only a quarter turn for full opening/closing). This facilitates automated control (compatible with electric and pneumatic actuators), making it particularly suitable for applications requiring frequent switching.
Low Flow Resistance: In the fully open state, the valve body's interior is a straight-through structure, allowing fluid flow to flow virtually unimpeded. The flow resistance coefficient is significantly lower than that of gate and globe valves, reducing system energy consumption and making it suitable for high-flow fluid transport (e.g., oil and water pipelines).
5. Compact Structure, Suitable for Complex Installation Environments
The forging process of the forged steel ball valve enables a more compact valve body design. Compared to a cast steel ball valve of the same specification, it is smaller and lighter, making it particularly suitable for installation in space-constrained environments (e.g., shipboard pipelines and integrated hydraulic systems). Furthermore, the forged valve body offers flexible connection options (e.g., flanges, threads, and welding), adapting to the installation requirements of various piping systems.
6. Wide range of applicable media and strong adaptability to working conditions
Forged steel ball valves are compatible with a variety of fluid media and working conditions, including gases, liquids, high/low temperature working conditions, and high-pressure/high-viscosity media.
